
About the Role
An Associate Radiology Technologist, also known as a Radiologic Technologist or Rad Tech, is a healthcare professional who uses medical imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform imaging procedures: Conduct X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other imaging studies as ordered by physicians.
Prepare patients: Explain procedures to patients, position them correctly, and ensure their comfort and safety.
Operate equipment: Use and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning.
Ensure safety: Follow radiation safety guidelines to protect patients and themselves from unnecessary exposure.
Document results: Record and maintain accurate patient records and imaging results.
Collaborate with healthcare team: Work with radiologists and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated: Keep up with advancements in radiologic technology and techniques.
Requirements
Education: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
Certification: Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent patient care skills.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
