
About the Role
A Clinical Primary Therapist is a mental health professional who provides direct therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups. They assess, diagnose, and treat mental health issues using various therapeutic techniques to improve clients' emotional and psychological well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
Develop treatment plans: Create individualized treatment plans based on clients' unique needs and goals.
Provide therapy: Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
Maintain records: Keep accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
Collaborate with healthcare team: Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for clients.
Educate clients: Provide education and support to clients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies.
Stay updated: Keep current with developments in the field of mental health and continuously improve clinical skills.
Supervise interns: Mentor and supervise interns or junior therapists.
Requirements
Education: Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials.
Experience: Typically requires 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Specialized training: Experience in specific therapy modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), is preferred.
