
About the Role
An Ultrasound Technologist, also known as a Sonographer, uses ultrasound equipment to create images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. These images help physicians diagnose and monitor various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct ultrasound exams: Prepare patients for the procedure and perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Operate and maintain equipment: Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
Analyze and document results: Provide preliminary diagnostic evaluations and communicate findings to physicians.
Patient interaction: Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety.
Maintain patient records: Accurately record test results and other relevant information.
Continuous learning: Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
Requirements
Education: Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certification: Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or a similar recognized body.
Experience: Previous experience as an Ultrasound Technologist is preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent patient service skills, and proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
